Melbourne Florida isn't a culinary capital, but with a little knowledge about where the locals eat, you can get great food at a decent price. I'm going to discuss several of my favorite places in and around Melbourne so you have some choices no matter where you are as you travel around our town.

Let's start beach side since that is one of the biggest draws to the area. If you are down at the boardwalk in Indialantic and a fan of New York style pizza, Bizzaro's is the place to go. I had forgotten how good pizza from up north was until they opened. Rumor has it that the secret to NY pizza is the water- regular tap water processed by the city of New York. That is what gives the dough its distinct taste and my wife tells me that Bizarro's imports water from the Big Apple for just that reason (who cares as long as it tastes good!). If you order a large, better have some help because the pies are oversized. The place is right off the north end of the boardwalk and there are few parking places so walk or bring someone to run in to pick up your to go order while you circle. It is not a big place, but there are a couple of booths inside and tables on a covered patio outside. Bring cash because they don't take plastic or debit cards. Can't beat a great slice of pizza and a cold beer with a great view of the ocean! (321) 724-4799

In the Avenue Viera Mall area, Five Guys is the place to go for burgers. They are hand formed, come with lots of toppings and a big pile of fries. These are made the way burgers should be. The price is around $7, a little more than McDonalds or Burger King, so we don't go there often but I try to avoid hitting fast food restaurants regularly anyway. This is more of a treat than a daily affair for us. The price hasn't scared away customers- you will normally wait in line to order but it moves quickly. It is a fast growing franchise and there is another shop off of Palm Bay Road just west of the I-95 interchange. Use the store locator on the site and find one near you!

That just about covers the four corners of Melbourne, Florida so you should be able to find good eats if you are in and around town. I've enjoyed eating at these spots and I'm sure you will too. I'm always looking for a good place to get a meal so if I find one I'll keep you updated. Don't waste your life or your money- start LIVING!

Bat Removal & Control, Bat in Attic

I have seen hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to people's homes. This damage was not caused by storms or fires or high water. The damage I see is caused by wild animals. Sometimes homeowner insurance covers the loss. Often times it doesn't.

I own and operate a nuisance wildlife removal service in Flint, Michigan. In this article I will review two actual cases of animal damage for you. These two cases combined cost these two homeowners almost $20,000.

The first situation involved a family that took a month long vacation from their home in Flint, Michigan. They rented a house for a month and had a wonderful time in sunny Florida. Upon their return they found their house ransacked. Chairs were tipped over, pictures were ripped from the walls, and the curtains and drapes were ripped to shreds. Every item on every shelf and had been flung to the floor. Boxes of cereal and other food were ripped open and the contents scattered all over the floors. The heartbreak really sunk in when they saw that the vandals had broken every Royal Daulton (a very expensive collectable) that they had is a large display cabinet.

Most homeowner insurance policies cover damage created by bats. Some even cover the expense of removing the bats. She turned in her claim and was turned down flat. Her policy specifically stated that rodent and bat damage are not listed for coverage.

Both of these two animal damage situations could have been prevented with a http://www.advanced-wildlife-control.com/Preventative%20home%20inspection.htm ">Preventative Home Inspection.

It's time, right now, for you to call your insurance agent. Ask if you would have been covered by either of these instances. Review your policy and ask if any animal damage is specifically excluded.

I do not sell insurance. I am a homeowner and I have insurance for my own home. I know that it's not on the top of your list to make that call to your insurance agent. You may be glad at a later date that you took the time to do it.

Now go make that call.

Bats have had a bad reputation for a long time. Old tales, books, movies, television, and publicity have caused people to develop misconstrued notions about bats. The truth is, bats are incredibly important to our surrounding eco-system. Do you like mosquitos? Bats do! And they eat all of them so that mosquitos aren't eating you at your backyard cookout party. Aside from insect control, bats play a major role in our environment. It is important to always respect bats, and understand that they are innocent mammals that only want to survive.

For this reason, it is important that you never harm, trap, or kill wild bats. In fact, it is illegal in most states without the proper licenses and permits. If you are scared of bats, or have a misguided perception of them, continue reading to learn some common myths and perhaps change your mind about bats once and for all!

Bats Are Blind

They are not blind at all. In fact, Megachiroptera (tropical fruit bats) have pretty good eye sight because they have a pronounced visual cortex. Although Microchiroptera have smaller eyes, they can still see just fine. They do not use echolocation solely to navigate. They mostly use it to hunt for insects.
